USSOCOM SBIR releases topics as part of 2017.1 DoD SBIR Broad Agency Announcement

USSOCOM will be soliciting Phase I proposals on the following topics as part of the 2017.1 DoD SBIR Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) that was released on 30 November 2016.

Starting on 30 November 2016, USSOCOM topics can be viewed at:

In the 2017.1 DoD SBIR BAA, USSOCOM topics cover a broad range of technology areas. These topics are:

  • SOCOM17-001: Family of Light Weight Cases for 5.56mm Ammunition
  • SOCOM17-002: Moisture Wicking Pathway Treatment for Textiles
  • SOCOM17-003: Innovative CubeSat Payloads for USSOCOM Space Missions
  • SOCOM17-004: Big Data Network Forensics Analysis Tool Capability

The DoD SBIR BAA contains general instructions regarding proposal submission. However, it also contains USSOCOM specific instructions. You should become thoroughly familiar with both sets of instructions before you begin to write a proposal.

The 2017.1 SBIR BAA opens and proposals are accepted beginning on 10 January 2017 and closes at 6:00AM ET on 8 February 2017. The SBIR/STTR Interactive Topic Information System (SITIS) closes for questions during the open period on 25 January 2017.

During the Pre-release period, questions of a technical nature should be submitted by email to sbir@socom.mil if the question includes company sensitive information not to be released to the general public, or using the SBIR/STTR SITIS Q&A System, through which questions and answers are made available to the general public.
